SOAR, Serving Older Adults in Routt provides transportation services four days per week in Steamboat, two days per week in Hayden and three days per week in South Routt. Reservations are required at least 48 hours in advance by calling 970.879.0633.

 

 

SOAR Title VI and ADA policy

In compliance with TITLE VI of THE CIVIL RIGHTS ACT OF 1964, SECTION 504 of THE REHABILITATION ACT OF 1973, and THE AGE DISCRIMINATION ACT OF 1975, it is the policy of SOAR -Serving Older Adults in Routt, to provide benefits, services, employment and volunteer opportunities to all persons (employees, volunteers and clients) without regard to race, color, age, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, or disability.

All programs, services and activities of SOAR are operated in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. SOAR Grievance Procedure and ADA Complaint Procedure

SOAR has adopted an internal grievance procedure for the prompt and equitable resolution of complaints alleging any action prohibited by the U.S. Department of Justice regulations implementing Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Grievance Procedures:

  1. Any person filing a grievance with this organization must submit the grievance through direct contact, by phone, electronic contact or in writing to a member of the SOAR Board of Directors, the SOAR Executive Director or the Area Agencies on Aging (AAA). Upon receipt of such grievance, the Grievance Committee will review and/or make recommendations. The Grievance Committee shall meet with the person(s) submitting the grievance (and all other persons necessary) and attempt to resolve the matter and reach a decision satisfactory to_ all parties.
  2. If the persons do not reach a satisfactory decision after following the above steps, the Board shall, after reasonable notice to all interested parties, hold a hearing and resolve the grievance. The Secretary shall send a copy of the decision of the Board to the
  3. If the complainant is dissatisfied with the SOAR Board decision, the complainant has the right to further the grievance to the Director of Vintage,  the Area Agency on Aging of Region 12.
  4. The grievance will be reported to the Board at the next regular or special meeting.

ADA Complaint Procedures:

  1. Any person filing a Complaint with this organization must submit the Complaint through direct contact, by phone, electronic contact or in writing to a member of the SOAR Board of Directors, the SOAR Executive Director or the Area Agencies on Aging.
  2. A complaint should be filed in writing, contain the name and address of the person filing it, and briefly describe the alleged violation of the regulations. A complaint should be filed within 30 days after the complainant becomes aware of the alleged violation.
  3. An investigation, as may be appropriate, shall follow the filing of a complaint. The investigation shall be conducted in an informal but thorough manner, affording all interested persons and their representatives, if any, an opportunity to submit evidence relevant to a complaint.
  4. A written determination as to the validity of the complaint and a description of the resolution, if any, shall be issued and a copy forwarded to the complainant no later than 20 days after its filing.

 

Information about SOAR is available in alternative accessible formats (i.e. large print, braille) upon request. SOAR, Board of Directors will review and perform reasonable modifications to its policies and procedures when necessary to avoid discrimination on the basis of a disability, and that such modifications are available on request.
